The social program and gala dinner will take place in the evening at “Casa Ermelinda Freitas”.
The program includes a train ride (round trip) with passage over the Tagus river, on the iconic “25 de abril” Bridge, and a “Moscatel” wine tasting along the route. Upon arrival at “Casa Ermelinda Freitas” a welcome cocktail, with “Moscatel” wine and “Fogaças” (regional sweet biscuits) and the performance of a traditional music group, will be offered by the Municipality of Palmela. The Gala dinner, animated by the sound of live Portuguese Fado, will take place after a tour in the “Casa Ermelinda Freitas” museum & winery.
Please note that the winery is located outside of Lisbon. The departure to the dinner event will take place from the train station “Lisboa Oriente” on Thursday, October 17, at 5.00pm.
We ask all participants to arrive at the station at 4.45pm to ensure a timely and smooth boarding. However, there will be a transfer from the Infarmed to the train station “Lisboa Oriente”, and at the end of the night, another transfer from the train station “Lisboa Oriente” to the proximity of the event hotels will be ensured.
Further details about this program will be given closer to the conference.
Municipality of Palmela
Between the imposing Arrábida and the vineyard gardens, between the city and the rural tradition, between the tranquility of the wide horizons and the cutting edge technology that innovates in its industrial parks, Palmela is a vast territory made of contrasts, at the gates of the capital Lisbon.
The historical legacy of the headquarters of the Military Order of Santiago remains very present in the cultural identity of this municipality, which has in its Castle one of the great ex-libris. Between the houses, the wide and belvederes of the Historic Center have been, for centuries, a privileged place of crossing of cultures.
Motherland of excellent wines, the strong wine heritage is felt in every cellar and every estate, open doors to receive and provide unique experiences. These multi-award-winning wines blend perfectly with regional cuisine and other excellent local produce such as Azeitão PDO Cheese, the confectionery where the Fogaça de Palmela is queen, or the jams and liqueurs produced with the best fruit, highlighting the Riscadinha Apple of Palmela (PDO).
Palmela also has a diverse calendar of cultural and sporting events, as well as golf, crafts, horse riding, birdwatching, geocaching, hiking, quality accommodation and peaceful communities, which are happy to welcome.
So many destinations in one.
